MH2 is a full-blown sequel to the creature hunting game (after the expansion pack, Monster Hunter G), this new title includes a number of new gameplay systems. Along with the various species of monsters returning from the first Monster Hunter, Monster Hunter 2 contains many new monsters, such as the metallic wind dragon Kusharudaora, the lion-headed dragon Teo Teskator and his female counterpart Nana Teskatori, the primates Dodobrango and Babakonga and the chameleon-like dragon Oonazuchi, just to name a few.

With new monsters also comes the prospect of new weapons and new armor. This time you can also add gems to your weapon and your armor, to improve your skills, it makes the game easier to play and it's easier to beat the monsters in the game, even if it's not that necessary to use Gems but it does still help a little. This way you can also get your own and individual weapon or piece of armor.


Unlockables

Gallery area movies.
The area movies are unlocked by doing your first quest at a specific area. At the beginning of the quest you will see a cutscene.

- For all areas except tower this happens at the base camp.

- For the tower intro you must first head to area 1 to trigger the cutscene.

Beach intro - Do 1 quest at the beach area.

Desert intro. - Do 1 quest at the desert area.

Forest & Hills intro - Do 1 quest at the Forest & Hills area.

Mountains intro - Do 1 quest at the mountain area.

Swamp intro - Do 1 quest at the swamp area.

Tower intro - Do 1 quest at the tower area.

Volcano intro - Do 1 quest at the volcano area.

Gallery movies can be unlocked by encountering certain monsters, as well as doing certain things in the game. The intro movies are the cutscenes you will see when you encounter a monster for the first time.
