Experts from Barracuda Networks warn users that the old car wrap advertisement scams are still doing the rounds. Monster Energy Drink appears to be the most abused brand, but Coca-Cola and Budweiser are also leveraged.

The scam is simple. Potential victims get an email in which they’re told they can make a few hundred dollars per week if they accept to wrap their car in a Monster Energy Drink advertisement.

Once victims accept the deal, the scammers tell them that they need to pay the graphic artist that wraps the car. The payment must be made via Western Union, which is often preferred by con artists because it allows them to perform untraceable transactions.

This particular scam has been around for quite some time, but since it’s still making the rounds, it’s likely that it’s still profitable for the crooks.

So, beware! If something sounds too good to be true, it usually is.
