Zabbix, an enterprise-class open source distributed monitoring solution, released under the GPL (free of charge for both commercial and non-commercial use), has just reached version 2.0.12 and is now available for download.

Zabbix has been separated into multiple branches, and there are other, more advanced versions than this one. The developers maintain a number of separate builds of the software, each of them aimed at a certain category of users.

According to the changelog, the robots.txt file has been added, the startup.sh and shutdown.sh scripts are now working for the Java gateway with /bin/sh, the description of the returned value types to the agentd manpage has been added, a possible XSS issue in tables with vertical header row cells has been fixed, and reading /proc virtual files without rewinding the file position is now working properly.

Also, error checks have been implemented to avoid the partial configuration loading, {HOSTNAME} macro resolving is now working properly, the possibility to copy a templated graph has been implemented, the execution time in the Maintenance page has been improved, and the stale PID file detection for the Java gateway has been added.

A complete list of changes can be found in the official changelog. You can download Zabbix 2.0.12 right now from Softpedia.
