The difference between a fast computer boot and a lengthy one is often just a matter of trimming down the amount of programs that load at startup. With StartupEye you can receive alerts on Windows whenever a newly installed application attempts to record itself as a startup item.

StartupEye sits in the system tray, and whenever it detects that an application tries to register as a startup item, it alerts the user.

This is done by popping a window showig startup details about the application that triggered the notification as well as an audio alarm that stops only if you attend to the problem.

Apart from this, the program can also upload the file to VirusTotal online scanning service in order to check it for malware.

StartupEye is available for download on this page.
