It seems that hybrid devices are being researched all the time, though not all new ideas can be seen as equal in terms of how unique or unexpected they are, though Designer Byeong Min Choe seems to have put a significant effort into giving its new concept both traits.

So far, designers and hardware makers have come up with various hybrid devices and concepts, like SSD/HDD drives or NAS devices with built-in Blu-ray.

Such products, however, are not exactly shocking because they are part of the same market segment, more or less, in this case that of storage.

Designer Byeong Min Choe, however, decided to try and combine two products that are not known for their similarity of purpose.

In fact, it can be safely assumed that, in many cases, the two don't even sit on the same desk.

Basically, the designer created a concept of a merger between a monitor and a printer, under the name of Document Extractor.

The monitor will have a tray behind it, for storing paper, plus the full printer mechanism that can draw said paper in and throw it out through the bottom of the display's frame.

It should also be able to scan paper and, as a bonus, the screen itself will have support for touch input, plus a print/scan application that will allow portions of said screen top be cropped and printed on the fly.

“This monitor is just not a convergence product which is combined of printer and scanner. This monitor has the solution for saving our precious working times and natural resources,” states Yanko Design.

“When we surf the web or print out pictures and word files, we have to print the whole pages or some pages by running a image editing program like Photoshop,” the release added.

“This process is just inconvenient and wasting of time. By using this monitor, we can save working times and natural resources(Ink or Toner). Even more, we can minimize working spaces and print out the most necessary sections intuitively using this monitor which is combined of printer and scanner.”
