R&B veteran Monica is back. In preparation for her brand new album, “New Life,” which arrives in music stores on December 13, the singer has released a new video for the single “Until It's Gone.”

And it's a real beauty, to put it mildly.

Never the type of artist to succumb to pressure from the industry to the detriment of her own specific sound and style, with “Until It's Gone,” Monica delivers yet another soulful track about heartbreak, honesty, love and the ultimate loss.

The video is just as good, with Monica playing the friend of a woman whose husband cheats on her and who, ironically, finds her death by his hands when he crashes their car in the middle of a heated argument.

Directed by Diane Martel, the video is the perfect companion for the Missy Elliott written and produced track.

“Until It's Gone” might not climb up the charts with the same speed as what other pop artists put out, but it's already winning over the hearts of true fans.
