Moneydance 2008 Makes Better Friends with Leopard

- Brings bug fixes and improvements too

By: Filip Truta, Apple News Editor

Reilly Technologies has recently updated its financial management application for Mac OS X, Moneydance. Version 2008 (Build 606) delivers both improvements and bug fixes, but most notably, it integrates better with Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard).

Moneydance offers online banking and bill payment,
budget managing, schedule, portfolio tracking, importing data from Quicken and Money. It is also supported worldwide while it provides cross-platform compatibility and standards-based reliability. Check printing, detailed graphs and reports are also some of the Moneydance's main features.

So, let's see what the latest version of Moneydance brings:

As far as improvements go, Reilly Technologies is proud to introduce improved matching for downloaded transactions, a zoomable home page graph for exploring income and expenses, an over/under budget highlighting in toolbar graph, undo/redo support, a pop-up calendar for choosing dates and a new Capital Gains report.

Bug fixes, on the other hand, include fixed bug with top level categories being compared in the same bar graph as their children in home page graph, fixed issue in home page graph so that zooming-in causes the top level container to adjust the scrollbar if necessary and fixed re-drawing of version/extension panel on home page.

There's more, of course; these are just some of the most important improvements and fixes brought by the latest version of Moneydance.

Reilly Technologies also put this open API and Extension Developer Kit up for grabs, which enables code savvy folks to extend the app's features. The software costs US $39.99. A free trial version of Moneydance 2008 is also available. Go ahead, try it out!
