Cybercriminals are always looking for money mules, the willing or unwitting individuals that can help them cash in on their illegally earned proceeds. Experts have spotted a new money mule recruitment spam campaign.

Entitled “Work in the finance department,” the emails spotted by Conrad Longmore of Dynamoo’s Blog read something like this:

“We invite you to work in the home assistant offer.

This job takes 2-3 hours a week and requires absolutely no investment. The essence of this work for incoming client requests in your city. The starting income is about ~2000 Euro per month + bonuses.

You get paid your money every 2 weeks and your bonuses after finish each task!

We promis work for every person. But we accept applications this week only! Therefore, you should send email a request right now. And you will start earning money, starting from next week.”

The email is signed by one Delmark Roark, but others have seen similar emails signed by Royce Cain. In both cases, the crooks used Hotmail.com email addresses.

Such bogus job offers are highly common. However, it’s worth writing such advisories to raise awareness on the topic.
