Camilla McCall, of Charlotte, North Carolina, showed the world what a mother is able to do, when her child is in danger.

On Sunday, January 13, she took her 3-year-old son bike riding in the park when a man tried to kidnap the young boy. He attempted to snatch him as he was on the bike. The family was in Frazier Park on West Fourth Street, when the incident occurred, at 6:45 p.m.

McCall immediately sprang into action. She jumped on top of her son's attacker and the two wrestled. She was able to hold on to him and escape the confrontation unharmed. The intended victim of the kidnapping didn't suffer any injuries either.

“He just snatched him around the waist, off the bike and that’s when I jumped on, and grabbed Liam and that’s when we were fighting about him. The only thing I could think of is, I’ve got to hold on to him as tight as I can,” Camila tells WBTV.

“I've been very pleased with the police and what they've done,” she adds.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police apprehended 41-year-old Jerry White, a man that already had an extensive criminal record.

White was arrested 103 times before, in Mecklenburg County. He had been mostly charged for non-violent offences until now. This time, he will be tried for child abduction and assault of a child under 12 years old.

“That is crazy that he is still walking around here in our neighborhood and he's been arrested that many times,” said McCall.

He was apprehended because McCall remembered he was carrying a goodie bag from a restaurant, which police managed to find, with the receipt still inside. They pulled CCTV footage from the location and released the images to the public.
