Molten Games has apparently laid off its entire staff, according to various online sources, and the evidence seems to be mounting up across the web.

The studio is based in San Diego, California, and was founded around a year ago mainly by Sony Online Entertainment and Blizzard veterans. The studio was entirely independent, and was originally backed by the renowned online game publisher NCsoft.

There is some evidence pointing out to the fact that the studio has not yet closed down and will continue seeking some alternative means of funding, but for now the studio has not revealed any specific information.

The rumors started building up in a Polycount forums thread where two posters discuss direct knowledge of the studio layoffs, stating that "the whole studio is looking for work as of yesterday," and on his personal blog the Art Director also alludes to a canceled project from Molten Games,.

Furthermore, Joshu Kriegshauser, who served as director of technology with the company, has confirmed that the company is pulling the plug on its work in progress project, in a series of tweets on March 29, also sharing a couple of YouTube videos.

The San Diego IGDA chapter has also posted something on Facebook, claiming that the layoffs have been confirmed.

"We're getting word from contacts at Molten Games that the studio has lost its funding and laid off its employees. They are currently seeking funding to continue development. Let's be proactive and help our fellow developers land on their feet," the post reads.
