Minecraft Pocket Edition version 0.5.0 for iPhone and iPad “has been sent in for review and we expect it to be released in mid-November,” reports Mojang, the company selling one of the world’s most popular building games.

Minecraft on the iPhone and iPad is getting new features like paintings (screenshot above), mushroom farming, melons, zombie pigmen, a Nether Reactor, and Glowstone, according to the release notes.

Some tweaks are mentioned, including heart restoring when sleeping in bed, food restoring more health, a less foggy gameplay experience, and an easier way to get out of bed.

Crashes associated with game saves have been addressed, and a bug that prevented animals from respawning in a map has been patched. Other issues have been resolved as well.

For a complete list of fixed bugs, see the 0.5.0 fixed issues page.

Minecraft Pocket Edition is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad and requires iOS 4.3 or later.
