Activision has just confirmed that the third content drop for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, in the form of a new multiplayer map, will arrive on the Xbox 360 platform for Call of Duty Elite premium subscribers later this month.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 broke sales records last year when it arrived on the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms. Now, Activision, together with studios Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software, is working hard on supplying a constant stream of DLC for the first person shooter.
All the add-ons will be launched throughout a “Content Season” which consists of 20 drops that have already started appearing last month and will continue to do so until September.
After the
first two drops, which consisted of multiplayer maps Liberation and Piazza, Activision has now confirmed content drop #3, in the form of a new map called Overwatch.
“Shots break out on a construction site atop a New York City skyscraper. Battle takes place along two levels in a near symmetrical layout, with the central bridge and side routes open to attack from multiple angles. Watch your every step, as a lack of boundaries surrounding the perimeter leaves nothing to prevent you from falling far to the ground below,” Activision revealed about the map.
Just like the previous DLC, Overwatch will first be available on February 21 for the Xbox 360 platform, only for Call of Duty Elite premium subscribers.
Disgruntled PS3 owners will no doubt notice that Xbox 360 users will get this third downloadable map before they even
get the first two add-ons, Liberation and Piazza, which are scheduled to appear for their platform on February 28.
Considering the same pattern will continue, Overwatch is going to be released onto the PS3, once again just for Elite subscribers, towards the end of March.
