Microsoft has just announced that Modern Combat 5: Blackout would launch on Windows 8.1 on July 24 together with a Windows Phone version that will be published in the Windows Phone Store during the same day.

At this point, there are no pricing details available for Windows 8.1 users, but more information would be provided tomorrow in the eve of the game launch.

“Your wait will soon be over! Today, Gameloft has announced that Modern Combat 5: Blackout will be available for download on both Windows and Windows Phone on July 24th, just a few days away. The game looks pretty amazing,” Microsoft said in an announcement today.

“Gameloft also just announced that all of their Gameloft HD titles in 2014 will release immediately on the Windows Store and Windows Phone Store,” it said.

The Windows 8.1 version will work not only on a desktop computer running Microsoft’s modern operating system, but also on tablets such as the Surface RT.

The game will most likely come as a universal app, which means that you’ll have to purchase it just once and play it on all devices running Windows, including tablets and smartphones. More to come on this as Gameloft is getting ready to make it available for Windows 8.1 users.
