For about a year after her divorce from director Sam Mendes, actress Kate Winslet dated model Louis Dowler. She then dumped him to be with Richard Branson's nephew, Ned RocknRoll, whom she's still seeing. For the first time since they met and became an item, Louis is speaking out and, in all fairness, Kate would probably not approve of the things he has to say.
In an interview with the
Daily Mail, Dowler recalls that, just days before Kate basically ran off with Ned, she was
still with him, giving him no reason to doubt that this would ever change for some time.
“I don’t think Kate behaved well and it is still very raw for me,” Louis says. He's referring to the way she chose to break up with him, by basically flying to New York with another man, stepping out in public with him and then letting Louis read into it.
‘I was in love with her and you can’t switch that off overnight. I’m not sure Kate treated me well,” Dowler tells the Mail.
Not only was he in love and he believed Kate felt the same, but they had even taken their relationship a step farther: he took her to meet his parents.
“Kate came home with me to Cornwall and we just hung out together. She met my parents and family. I thought we were inseparable. I certainly haven’t found anyone else since,” he says.
Louis even hints that Kate didn't even take the time to let him know that she no longer wanted to be with him, but rather let her behavior – with Ned, no less – do all the talking for her.
“I don’t want to go into details but it wasn’t a straightforward break-up. I’m a laid-back guy, so I am not walking around with a long face – but I do still hold a torch for her,” Louis explains.
As of this moment, Kate hasn't responded in any way to Louis' not too subtle claims that he was unceremoniously dumped when she ran off with another man.
