Mother of two says she wouldn’t be happy as a stay-at-home mom

Some have called it the “supermodel gene,” but new mom Anna Freemantle, who returned to the catwalk just 9 days after giving birth says it’s a combination of good genes, eating right and, most importantly, keeping active.

Though she’s not the first model to give birth and then rock a two-piece swimsuit on the catwalk, Anna is definitely among those few who did it in record time, as the Daily Mail also points out.

Only 9 days after giving birth to her second child, the 32-year-old model, who was slim even when carrying, was back to work.

Freemantle says she loves her children but she simply can’t give up her job, because she believes woman shouldn’t have to choose between motherhood and a career, that they should be able to do both.

She definitely can: she gave birth and then she reverted back to shape immediately, and went back to modeling.

“Although the whole process of pregnancy is quite private and quiet, the one thing it made me realize is how lucky I’ve always been never to have felt particularly hindered by my body,” Anna says, as cited by the British publication.

She credits her incredible feat to her good genes and very active lifestyle.

“I’ve always been a pretty active person so the minute I got out of labor the one thing I really felt like was to get back on my feet and go for walks,” she says.

This in itself is pretty amazing given that she was in labor for about 3 days – more than enough to discourage other women.

“I guess a bit of good genes in terms of the elasticity of the skin with no stretch-marks whatsoever as a result was pure luck... and a lot of bio oil for the stretchmarks,” she further says.

Anna is convinced that she’s not missing out on anything by not giving up her career, saying her family already knows she couldn’t never be happy not working.
