Models usually get away with a lot of things where fashion is concerned but, sadly, not the same can be said about Anja Rubik, who looked an absolute inappropriate mess on the red carpet at the MET Gala 2012.

Held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC, and celebrating the opening of the “Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations” exhibition, the MET Ball is considered the Oscars of fashion.

If so, Anja certainly didn't go home clutching her very own statuette, the Daily Mail points out.

The Victoria's Secret Angel, who also modeled for the world-famous Pirelli calendar, wore a pale white silk gown by Anthony Vaccarello which had so many cuts and cutouts that it left very little, if anything at all, to the imagination.

You can see the photo attached for confirmation.

Rocking slit to above her hip bone and cutouts on her chest, Anja looked as if she'd just climbed out of bed, an impression made stronger by her bedhair.

As if the illusion of nakedness wasn't enough to get people talking, Anja also set tongues wagging with her bony frame, which was made to stand out because of the aforementioned “skimpy” gown.

“Paying tribute to Angelia Jolie's right leg meme from this year's Academy Awards, the model turned heads and drew a few gasps with her jutting hipbones. The dress's gaping holes over her chest and lower abdomen areas added to the near-naked effect,” the Mail writes.

“At one point during the red-carpet arrivals, Ms Rubik hugged fellow model Karonlina Kurkova, and if it wasn't for her strategically bent knee, an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction seemed more than likely,” the tab further writes.

It also offers photos to back up this claim and, truth be told, it does seem like Anja was in danger of showing more skin on the red carpet than she'd anticipated.

Back in February this year, supermodel Anne V tried to pull a similar stunt at the Grammys 2012, to the same effect: she landed on every worst dressed list comprised on the occasion.
