Apple has posted a new Support document on its website outlining some of the changes that have occurred with the MobileMe service lately. Highlights include improvements to MobileMe’s iDisk service, and changes to the “Find my iPhone” feature. Apparently, an issue where exporting multiple contacts may result in an incomplete set of contacts has been dealt with as well.

Last modified on October 09, 2009, Support document HT3883 says that, “The MobileMe service has recently been updated with improvements,” all of which are described thoroughly.

For iDisk users, a new Public folder page located at http://public.me.com/membername now matches the look of me.com and supports the drag and drop of files between folders (when enabled for visitors), according to Apple. Via a new setting from www.me.com/idisk, the service now allows visitors to upload, move, and delete files on their Public folder.

Also, an iDisk Public folder password can now be set from www.me.com/idisk. While logging in to a password-protected Public folder using a web browser, entering the generic username “public” is no longer required, Apple reveals. Lastly, iDisk adds the ability to connect to another member’s Public folder while viewing your own iDisk at me.com.

The Find My iPhone feature has been updated as well. The function allows users whose iPhone is lost or has been stolen to try to locate the device, send an instant message to the device, or even remotely wipe all data from it. The feature now has its own icon in the MobileMe toolbar at me.com and adds a new URL to go directly to Find My iPhone: http://www.me.com/findmyiphone.

As far as contacts are concerned, the new update to MobileMe addresses an issue where exporting multiple contacts may result in an incomplete set of contacts, as mentioned a few paragraphs above. Apple also encourages users to refer to the entire knowledge base of the MobileMe service update for a comprehensive list of changes previously added to MobileMe.
