The tool required to manage iDisk settings and to sync contacts, calendars, and bookmarks on a Windows PC - MobileMe Control Panel - has been updated to version 1.5.2, adding compatibility with
iTunes 9.1.1, another update just recently rolled out by Apple.
On the Support Downloads section of its website, Apple
describes the MobileMe Control Panel for Windows update as follows:
About MobileMe Control Panel for Windows
MobileMe Control Panel is required to manage iDisk settings and to sync contacts, calendars, and bookmarks on a Windows PC.
This update is required for Windows computers running iTunes 9.1.1.
MobileMe is the online service from Apple that automatically keeps your email, contacts, calendar, bookmarks, and more in sync across multiple computers, your iPhone, iPod touch, and a suite of web apps on www.me.com.
MobileMe is available in English, French, German, and Japanese. For more information on MobileMe, visit this page.
Earlier this month, attempting to improve the reliability of backup restore, as well as space use on iDisk, or local storage,
Apple rolled out MobileMe Backup v3.2. It was a software update to its backup utility meant to be used with MobileMe. “Backup 3.2 is recommended for all users of Backup 3,” the update’s description said. “This update improves the reliability of backup restore and uses space more efficiently on your iDisk or local storage (e.g. external hard drive or DVD),” Apple explained two weeks ago.
As far as iTunes 9.1.1 is concerned, the update reportedly provides important bug fixes for several stability issues with VoiceOver, a usability issue with VoiceOver and Genius Mixes, issues with converting songs to 128 kbps AAC while syncing, and other issues that held back stability and performance.
