According to a survey in the UK

Here comes another one from the 'Blame it on the mobile phone' series. You probably already know that mobile phones might be responsible for the death of bees throughout UK and other areas, which might lead to global famine, and the potential of cellphones causing cancer has many times been under debate.

Companies are still unsure whether to allow the use of mobile phones on planes because of the harm they could bring.

Recently, a British Crime survey has also revealed that mobile phones may be responsible for a rise in street crime. According to the Guardian, throughout the last three months of last year, the police recorded an 8 percent increase in robberies, with most of them involving mobile phone and MP3 player thefts on the street, rather than the traditional cash-in-transit robberies.

According to the policing minister Tony McNulty, mobile phones are involved in more than half of all street robberies and, as a result, the government has set up regional robbery plans to address a problem concentrated in specific areas. So, basically, just by carrying a mobile phone, you might become a thief magnet and should be worried when walking down the street?

Probably not, but since mobile phones are the most valuable possession a person carries along, it is obvious that if a robbery does occur, the mobile phone will get stolen as well. Ian Johnson, of the Association of Chief Police Officer said that the rise in robberies is being tackled by deploying plainclothes officers with dedicated response vehicles in local hotspots.
