Luxury mobile phone manufacturer Mobiado has decided to present the world's first and only 3G luxury mobile phone in an attempt to offer both a luxury phone with good looks and a set of features closer to the ones found in today's smarter mobile phones.

Not only does the dual illumination technique implemented in this mobile phone maximize the illumination on the keypad - by lighting the keypad area both from above and beneath - but it also gives the phone a more interesting look.

The mobile phone's aluminum case
is created from aircraft aluminum, in order for the phone to be stronger and more durable yet lightweight at the same time. It is filtered glass bead blasted, and then hard anodized coated to produce a rock hard ceramic coating with twice the thickness of traditional anodizing for the toughest of uses.

The Luminoso also includes sapphire crystal and stainless steel buttons, a sapphire crystal camera window and a front screen coated with Diamond Shield, said to be the most advanced coating available for polymer substrates with diamond like properties.

In the end, leaving the materials used or illumination techniques aside, it's up for the user to really decide whether this mobile phone actually has the necessary good looks to pass as a stylish mobile phone or not.

While other luxury mobile phones would cut short on the features, Luminoso comes with 3G support, being the world's first 3G luxury mobile phone to do so. Other features include a large display with a QVGA resolution, 2 megapixel camera with 8x digital zoom and video capabilities, MicroSD card slot with support for cards of up to 2Gb, stereo speakers and surround sound, Bluetooth and Infrared for connectivity, push to talk, and a media player with support for MP3, MP4, eAAC and AAC music files.

Aside from that, the tri-band Mobiado Luminoso is unlocked and will work on any GSM network operator. The price is unknown right now as the phone will be available starting January the 15th, but more information can be found on their website.
