14 DAY TRIAL // Grand 350 Aston Martin has little to do with the British luxury car maker's products, but there's something that both have in common, the high price.
Following the agreement that Mobiado and Aston Martin announced several months ago, the Canadian-based company has just announced the Grand 350 Aston Martin luxury mobile phone.
Unfortunately, the phone is very far from the Aston Martin concept phone shown back in March, which was looking stunningly.
Dubbed CTP002, Mobiado's Android concept phone was completely transparent and made of sapphire glass with titanium edges, whereas the Grand 350 Aston Martin is a bulky phone with a anodized aluminum body.
Obviously, the Grand 350 Aston Martin is CNC machined and aircraft graded, while the phone's edges are inlayed with sapphire crystal.
The specs are pretty standard for luxury phones these days, so nothing uncommon there. What really stands out is the infrared window, which is made from a solid piece of ruby crystal.
Perhaps the limitations of the technology did not allowed Mobiado to manufacture a sleeker device, instead the company focused on the materials.
Furthermore, the screws that are keeping the phone together are stainless steel or gun metal black stainless steel, while the buttons of the phones are made of sapphire crystal and stainless steel.
Hardware-wise, the phone comes with quad-band GSM/EGSM (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900)support, UMTS and HSPDA, as well as Wi-Fi connectivity.
There's nothing impressive for a tech-savvy user, as the phone sports a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper, built-in GPS, and a small 2.36-inch display with support for 16 million colors.
Other highlights of the phone include, Bluetooth and micro USB connectivity, along with music and video player and a 2.5mm audio port.
According to Mobiado, the Grand 350 Aston Martin phone will be available in three designer styles: black, black satin and silver.
However, the company has yet to announce the phone's price options and its availability.
