Mitsubishi plans to push the development of electric vehicles one step further, combining environmental awareness with eco-friendly technologies.
This time, the main goal is to lend a hand to farmers and other buyers who would appreciate and use an all-electric lightweight truck, equipped with a small electric motor, on a daily basis, RushLane informs.
Since price is always a decisive factor, the company plans to make the new truck their cheapest electric vehicle ever launched. Rumor has it the all-electric car will be priced at $19,200(€14,851).
The new truck is supposed to be the third member of the green electric vehicles family created by the automaker, following the Minicab-MiEV, designed as a result of a collaboration with Suzuki, which went on sale earlier this month, and the older i-MiEV commercialized since 2009.
Apparently, Mitsubishi thinks that electric, non-polluting cars are a key element for a sustainable future, since it hopes to double its EV sales recorded in 2011 until the end of next year, by distributing more than 42,000 electric vehicles worldwide.
