Ollie Wagner & Geoff Pado have just released
Misu, an application for your
Mac that allows you to "fuse"
iPod/iPhone libraries into one. Plug as many iPods as you can into a
Mac and "have them intermingle." Misu eliminates the fuss of having to selectively
sync and delete and then re-sync again.
Flashback – it's the 1980s, and you’ve just made a mix tape. You dubbed some tunes and gave them to a friend. You'd think it would be that easy to share tunes with your friends today – just plug two iPods into your Mac and have them intermingle. But it's not. iPods are normally locked down, and you would have to selectively sync and delete and re-sync to get where you want to; what a pain.
This is where Misu comes in. Ollie Wagner & Geoff Pado's app is for "people who want to discover a whole new world of music." Users simply connect two or more iPods to a Mac, and let Misu "fuse" their music libraries into one, without copying the songs that the receiving iPod already sports - "Misu is smart."
We've had a go at the app ourselves (
here, now you try) and the UI (user interface) is indeed slick. You'll find that Misu is not only intuitive, but very smooth as well, using nothing but the simplest icons/symbols and dialog boxes to get you were you want to be as soon as possible. After all, Misu is aimed at simplifying a task that usually takes a lot of time, demanding constant attention from the user.
Misu works with
iPod, iPod Touch and iPhone, but you'll need a Mac first of all, no matter what portable device you own. The full version of Misu costs just $19. A
trial version of Misu is available right here if you want to give it a try right now.
