Her silence could have easily been worth more, but Rachel Uchitel, also known as Mistress No. 1 in the Tiger Woods cheating scandal, settled for $10 million. She’s already returned the money to the golfer after violating her contract.

As we also noted at the time, as the scandal continued to reach new heights, Uchitel agreed to a payoff of $10 million on the condition that she never speak of the affair she had with the golfer.

TMZ notes that this was the only condition to get paid. Should she violate it, she was liable to be sued as well, says the e-zine.

In all fairness, Uchitel has given 0 interviews about her fling with Tiger, but she still violated the contract – and is already $10 million poorer than she was months ago.

She agreed to do the show “Celebrity Rehab,” where she claimed she was “addicted to love,” and Woods’ attorney saw this as a violation of the aforementioned contract.

From that, things went downhill for Uchitel.

“Several months ago Tiger’s lawyer, Jay Lavely, contacted Gloria [Alred, Uchitel’s lawyer] and said they were going after Rachel because they believed she violated the confidentiality agreement by allegedly speaking with TMZ and going on ‘Celebrity Rehab’ to treat her ‘addiction to love’ – though she never talked specifically about Tiger on the show,” TMZ reports.

“We’re told Rachel felt strongly she had not violated the agreement, but Gloria allegedly convinced her she would lose if push came to shove, so Gloria struck a deal with Lavely – that Rachel would return the lion’s share of the settlement money,” the report further says.

By agreeing to give the money back, Uchitel believed she was avoiding another trial and extra costs, but it was all a ploy on Alred’s part to get her attorney’s fee.

“Rachel believes Gloria sold her out, allegedly making a deal with Tiger’s lawyer to strong-arm Rachel into giving the money back and in return Gloria would get her fee — a fee Gloria would not have received if Rachel went to arbitration and lost,” TMZ says.

Left without her bounty and more upset than ever, Uchitel is now looking into options to sue Alred for malpractice.
