Unsurprisingly for most movie goers, Mission Impossible 3, Tom Cruise's latest action flick is number one in the charts.
Despite bad reviews and a public lack of sympathy for the Top Gun star, J. J Abrams' movie is for the second week in a row number one.
The movie entered a week ago and is still top of the list despite Friday's arrival of Poseidon, which has been also a disgrace for its investors (aka producers). It seems that lately action flicks are no longer wanted by huge audiences like in the past decades and years. Director J.J. Abrams's Mission drops 50% from its $47 million opening and not even the sinking boat drama-action blockbuster wannabe Poseidon will escape this trend of just skipping the action movies.
The remake of 1972's The Poseidon Adventure is directed by water-crazed director Wolfgang Petersen and stars Kurt Russell, Josh Lucas, Jacinda Barrett, Richard Dreyfuss and Andre Braugher.
Lindsay Lohan's latest movie, Just My Luck (from 20th Century Fox), reaches at number three. According to Hollywood.com, "Lohan plays the luckiest girl in the world who finds she has swapped her good fortune for that of an unremittingly unlucky guy, played by Chris Pine. Director Donald Petrie's PG-13 romance is targeting girls 11-17 but will probably play slightly older as well."
