Less than 2 days before its worldwide premiere, Tom Cruise's latest BIG BLOCKBUSTER, Mission Impossible 3, has already caused media attention.
The only problem would be in connection with the sort of attention it gathered. As one thought to be brilliant promotion stunt, some movie theaters from L.A were equipped with some audio boxes singing the movie theme tune. Nothing bad so far.
The problems started as soon as the boxes were wired to the theater doors. The wiring was supposed to start the song as soon as the doors were opened. But some boxes got unplugged from the doors and as moviegoers went inside the theaters the objects looked very suspicious and caused panic.
In the terrorism-paranoid world we're living in, the mysterious devices were mistaken for bombs. What ensued is no hard to imagine: panic. The police was in some cases called by worried moviegoers. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department arson squad, who destroyed a box, say, "This was the least intended outcome. We weren't expecting anything like this."
Mission Impossible 3 is a most advertised, most talked about and most awaited movie, and as we all know "there is no such thing as bad publicity", the B.O numbers should still be huge for Tom Cruise's latest movie performance.
Some movie experts predict that the movie will not be such a smash hit as it is anticipated by its producers and promoters due to the male star's recent too Scientologic behavior and all the fuss he created around himself and connected to his girlfriend Katie Holmes.
