14 DAY TRIAL // The search for a 2-year-old boy Isaiah Theis from Centuria, Wisconsin ended a few hours ago, when a police officer found his body in the locked trunk of a car. Above is the official announcement from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
Isaiah went missing earlier this week, with the entire community helping authorities conduct a search of the surrounding areas for him. It was believed that he had simply wandered off.
Instead, he seems to have crawled into the trunk of a car in his father’s auto shop, near the family home, and somehow got locked in, authorities believe.
They did not look for him there because they assumed he was out and about.
He died of hyperthermia.
An investigation is still underway to determine the exact circumstances of his death.
