Police have recovered a vehicle belonging to a student missing from LSU since Tuesday.

The vehicle was found with the lifeless body of a man inside. The remains are yet to be identified.

Officials believe that they belong to the vehicle's owner, Chris Broussard. He is a senior at LSU who was last seen driving off in the 2004 Nissan Frontier Kingcab late Monday night.

Teams have recovered the car off Highway 30 in Iberville Parish. According to WWLTV, police found the pick-up truck by scouring the area with a helicopter.

Christian Post described that 22-year-old Chris Broussard went missing after attending a party at Bogie's Bar in Baton Rouge. He last communicated with his mother by text message at 1 a.m.

He wrote to tell her that he was about to leave the party and head home, as he was living with his parents. She suspected that he went over to a friend's house and she sent him a text message at 3 a.m., without getting a reply.

Witnesses saw him leave the bar at 1:48 a.m. and he disappeared after that. He was working at a fitness center and never made it to his job the next day.

“He didn’t have school on Tuesday and he never made it home. [...] He never showed up at work, and he’s never missed work because he really likes the place. He’s always prompt,” his mother says.

The family lives in Ascension Parish and the pick-up truck has been discovered not far from there, UPI notes.

“I wanted to say thank you to all of you on this page. My cousin has been found, but the worst we thought is true. Just keep my aunt, uncle, cousin, the rest of our family, and his fraternity in y'all's prayers,” Broussard's cousin posted on a Facebook page dedicated to finding the man.
