Police may have found the remains of a little girl missing and presumed dead after her mother was killed on a farm in Franklin County, Kansas last week.
“It is with great sadness that I report a body found in Osage County is believed to be the remains of 18-month-old Lana Bailey,” Sheriff Jeff Richards explains.
A six-day search mission turned up the body of a toddler in Osage County, and investigators are currently performing tests for a proper identification.
According to the Kansas City Star, 120 to 150 officers looked for Lana by air, sea and ground in the area between Ottawa and Emporia.
As I mentioned, her slain 21-year-old mother Kaylie Bailey was found on a farm along with two other people. Police have arrested 27-year-old Kyle Trevor Flack, a roommate of Bailey's boyfriend in the murders.
