Beauty queen Rima Fakih, former Miss USA, was reportedly “hammered” when busted for DUI

Only a couple of days ago, Miss USA Rima Fakih was arrested on suspicion of DUI and then made headlines for trying to lie about it. A new report explains why she might have wanted to keep the arrest a secret: she was completely “hammered.”

Fakih held on to the title of Miss USA until this summer. She is also the first Arab American woman ever to win the much coveted crown.

After the arrest, she and her people tried to deny it ever happened, even saying she wasn't in Michigan when it happened, as we also reported at the time.

TMZ is now saying she had plenty of reason to lie, given that she was very much intoxicated when police pulled her over for speeding.

“Miss USA Rima Fakih was HAMMERED when cops arrested her for DUI this weekend... this according to Michigan police,” the e-zine says.

As it usually happens with arrests that get so much media attention, the police report filed on the occasion of the DUI has made its way online – and it leaves no doubt as to the state the beauty queen was in when she was busted.

“Fakih was initially stopped when officers noticed the 26-year-old speeding and weaving through traffic in Detroit early Saturday morning. Cops say Fakih 'immediately identified herself as Miss USA',” TMZ writes.

“According to the report, Fakih took a breathalyzer and blew more than TWICE the legal limit – once blowing a .19 and then a .20. The legal limit in MI is .08,” says the same report.

“Officers claim they also found a half-empty bottle of wine on the floorboard behind the driver's seat,” TMZ adds.

As we also informed you shortly after the arrest, initially, Fakih and her publicist tried to deny reports that had started to emerge online, even feigning some outrage at them.

However, when it became clear that they could not cover this one up, her attorney issued a statement to confirm reports and to apologize on her behalf.
