When you hear the world wearable, your mind immediately jumps to devices that are to be worn around the wrist. But that’s not all the category implies.

For example, some time ago we have brought you information about wearable smart rings and now it’s time to take things to the next level.

Meet Misfit, a joint venture of former Apple CEO John Sculley, Sonny Vu and Sridhar Iyengar. Last year, the company launched the Shine, an activity tracker that looks similar to a quarter.

And unlike other activity trackers, Shine can be worn almost everywhere in a variety of combinations.

For example, users can choose to wear it the old-fashioned way, strapped to their wrist, but they can also clip it onto their shirt or wear it around their necks.

Anyway, this week Misfit is launching a new necklace called Bloom as the newest way users can wear the Shine activity tracker. On top of that, the company is also debuting two new color options, Storm and Coral.

So far, the Shine was offered in gold, silver and blue, but adding more options will certainly delight most users. The necklace is made of hand-finished stainless-steel pendant hooked to an 18-inch stainless-steel chain.

The Shine activity tracker will easily clip onto the Bloom necklace (by virtue of magnets), letting you wear your trust health-centric device at a fancy party or a wedding. The necklace is sold for $79.99 / €58 and can be acquired of the Misfit website.

The Shine tracker works similarly to the Jawbone UP, by pairing itself with a mobile app to provide daily graphs of activity.

Since its birth, Misfit has managed to gather $23 / €17 million in funding and that’s not a surprise judging by how sleek their products look. The company has also offered a rubber sports band, a leather band, a leather necklace.

Last but not least, customers looking to take style to the next level can also have their pick from a dedicated collection of clothes designed to be worn with the Shine.

However, judging by its looks, the Bloom necklace seems to be targeted towards the ladies. Nevertheless, gentlemen have a whole host of options when it comes to wearing the Shine.

Shine tackles one aspect that a lot of wearable makers seem to push into the background – style. A wearable doesn't have to look good, it has to look spectacular for owners to be willing to take the devices everywhere with them.
