Take two: former “O.C.” star grabs headlines for her figure

Ever since producers killed off her character on “The O.C.” amidst ongoing talk that she was becoming too much of a diva, Mischa Barton has been grabbing lots of headlines with her yo-yo-ing weight and personal struggles.

While she never claimed to be perfect, she’s gotten plenty of negative attention whenever she gained some weight and especially when paparazzi took pictures of the cellulite on the back of her legs.

Oppositely, when she went on diets and started taking better care of herself, she’d also make it on the pages of glossy magazines, next to reports that she was having some kind of eating disorder.

The latter seems to be happening all over again.

The Daily Mail has a couple of new photos of the actress looking thinner than last time she was spotted out and about – and it’s using them to insinuate that Mischa might be losing too much weight in a very unhealthy fashion.

“Mischa Barton has gained and lost weight several times since her successful run in The OC finished in 2006. But she’s been looking back to her slender best recently,” the British tabloid writes.

“However the 25-year-old appeared gaunt last night as she showed off an even skinnier frame in Los Angeles during a night out with friends. Wearing a pretty pink blouse, cream skirt and tan Oxford brogues, the blonde cut a willowy figure,” the Mail says.

“But it was in the 5ft9 star’s face, where the weight loss was most evident. Mischa’s cheeks looked hollow, and the fuchsia stain slicked across her lips did too little to flatter her porcelain complexion,” adds the same publication.

While there’s no denying that Mischa lost some weight and that it’s mostly obvious in her face and the upper part of her body (because she’s pear-shaped), to suggest that she’s unhealthy is a bit of a stretch, voices online are saying.

The actress has been under a lot of pressure because of her weight, so it’s very likely that she doesn’t care enough about what people are saying of it to put her health at risk to fit some absurd standard, it is further being said.
