
The blooming actress and one of Hollywood's A-listers, Mischa Barton, made a total fool of herself during a press conference held before a David Jones fashion show. Mischa got paid more than $100,000 just to be present at the launch and she couldn't even name one Australian designer when she was asked by journalists.
On Monday, Mischa and her entire family arrived in Australia for the big event and the first press conference was held yesterday. When the reporters wanted to know what she feels about Aussie fashion, the 20-year-old star claimed she is a big fan of Australian designers.
'For me, the Australian designers tend to have a lot of very colorful, pretty, unique designs. A lot of the labels, like Alice McCall and Sass & Bide, are unique and you can kind of see that in them. They make beautiful sundresses and, like, quirky girly things', the fashion 'icon' said.
When asked what local designer's clothes she was fond of wearing, Mischa drew a blank and was left with her mouth open. Lucky for her, the general manager for David Jones stepped in and answered all the questions for Barton. The same thing happened again, when she had to say which her favorite designers are in general.
But the model/actress was very talkative when it came to speaking about influence as a role model and the stress of fame: 'I do feel a certain amount of pressure to be a role model for young women, but I don't feel that on a daily basis' and 'I am getting pretty used to it [the media attention]'. At least that's one thing that she can talk about without stumbling and looking for her words...
