Remember Mischa Barton? The former O.C. star has recently been struggling to make a comeback in the world of acting, and was - according to some voices out there - doing quite well until she managed to pull a Paris Hilton and get herself busted on suspicion of DUI. Well, it seems that she did manage to attract a bit of attention prior to her arrest and star in a movie that's been getting pretty good reviews, called "Assassination of a High School President" - either that or
that Maxim magazine almost-naked spread was hotter than I gave it credit. The fact is, Mischa seems to think it's a good idea to take some strategy tips from the queen of pretense, Lindsay Lohan, and parade the same annoying "look at me, I'm such a repentant good little girl" attitude that screams... well, hypocrisy is a strong word... so let's go with "pretense".
And what better way to give yourself props than walk around doing interviews and claiming that you're actually way smarter than you look. Yes, I know, the "misunderstood" card never gets old - it's been played a million times before and we still (sometimes) buy it. So, Mischa decided to let the world know her party girl reputation is in fact one big fat lie, and that she used to be in fact "really academic", although there's no additional word on what that means exactly.
"I went to public school in New York until I was about 15, so I had a definite school experience, the whole nine yards. But I loved school, though. I was actually really academic, so I liked it … it was a lot of fun". Yes, well, that makes sense. If you look up "academic" in the dictionary, you'll see it actually means staying in school until you're 15 and not much else except that. Aren't you proud of Mischa? I sure am... I mean, come on, how many of us manged to stay in school up to the age of 15, while at the same time struggling to forge a career as an actress and diva in the making?
"I started doing film when I was 1, and I love it - it is the best experience for me" Mischa also stated. "Each film that you do - it is like a little group that you make friends with and you have that for life. When you go on a television series, it is a different thing. Of course you have it for life, but it's a long-running show and it's not the same kind of temporary kinetic energy that you get from a movie".
Well, if I didn't know better, I'd say Mischa was trying to let us all know she felt more comfortable shooting films than TV series - odd, considering that a TV series made her semi-famous in the first place. And she used to word "kinetic"... well, isn't she a smart one, y'all? She did forget to say that the TV series that made her semi-famous worked quite well, up until they had to kill off her character because reportedly working with Mischa had turned into a nightmare. Oops... forgot to mention that part. Guess it's part of the whole "academic" thing. Well, stay tuned for more news of Mischa - you know there's bound to be more soon.
