There's no secret that the best market for interchangeable lens cameras is in Asia, and the latest sales figures from the UK show that DSLRs are still at the top of customers' list.

According to AmateurPhotographer, the figures released by market research firm GfK show that the UK market has registered a drop regarding CSC demand of up to 32%. Moreover, the overall UK camera sales value dropped 28.4% last year, with compacts falling 33%, mirrorless 31%, and DSLRs 21%.

Although the sales were quite low compared with the previous year, around 426,000 DLSRs were sold in 2013, in comparison with only 100,000 interchangeable lens cameras. If we were to look at the sales figures, UK customers spent a little over £535 million / €650 million / $891 million last year, while the year before the market registered a £747.7 million / €909 million / $1.245 billion revenue.

The total number of cameras sold in 2013 sits at 3.1 million units, compared with 2012's figures that show a considerably larger amount of 4.5 million units. This trend might make camera manufacturers think of better ways to market their products, at least on the European and US markets.
