One would imagine that a woman – let alone a model with experience – would instantly notice that something was “off” about a picture of her in lingerie, if it showed her with a smaller waistline and more defined abs. Not Miranda Kerr, though.

The former Victoria’s Secret Angel recently posted to her Twitter a photo of herself and her good friends / fellow Angels Doutzen Kroes and Alessanda Ambrosio, taken at the 2012 VS annual show.

The backlash was almost instantaneous, with fans noticing right away that which somehow slipped Miranda’s attention: not only was her face more glowing than the other two girls’ but she actually had a much slimmer waistline than fans knew she had in real life.

Indeed, the difference was almost startling, as this photo here can surely confirm. Miranda is already in excellent shape, having a tiny but fit figure that most women would kill for, but, in the photo she posted, her waist was almost inhumanly small.

She didn’t even notice it, she says on Instagram, in a note of apology accompanying the undoctored pic.

“Hi guys, here is the original VS image! When I re-posted the photo this week to support the girls I screen grabbed it off the internet when I was working in Japan. I had no idea it was photoshopped,” Miranda explains.

“All good intentions- sorry for the confusion and congratulations to the girls for such a great show!” the former Angel adds.

Not all of her fans are convinced though: for a woman who strives so much to send out a positive message to girls and women alike (namely, don’t starve yourself but eat healthy and get plenty of exercise to stay in shape), Miranda should be more careful about this kind of things, especially since they’re relatively easy to detect, they’re saying.

After all, if her fans noticed the difference in seconds, how could she not.

What do you think: was it an honest mistake or did Miranda realize the photo had been photoshopped, but posted it regardless? Let us know in the comments section below.
