The rugged tablets have been well received in the medical field so far

We have seen all kinds of rugged tablet computers appear on the market these days, but the one I’m going to talk about next, breaks a little from the norm.

Leading technology manufacturer MiTAC is gearing up to release a line of rugged Android tablets it has dubbed MioWORK L130, specifically designed to be used in a retail environment (via RetailTimes).

The new tablets are reportedly certified for enterprise use and come bundling relevant features such as secure wireless access and are resistant to drops and other possible accidental "hazards." The tablets will become available with optional accessories like a multi-docking station (which is pre-installed with Pay As You Go EPOS software Cervelo).

Although new to the retail market, the MioWORK tablets are already an established presence in the medical world. MiTac doesn't say anything about the tablet’s specifications, but I guess more will come to light in the upcoming months, before the tablets are launched on the market in May.
