Computex expo in Taiwan was the place for a large number of new mobile phone releases and announcements. Mio A702 turned out as being one of the most highly appreciated unveiling, as this PDA phone features several interesting performances.

Probably the most interesting feature that Mio A702 provides for its user is the GPS function. With the touch of a single button, the smartphone switches from a telecommunication device to a Global Positioning one.

Even more, this service has been upgraded as to provide reliable results for the user of this device. The GPS chipset now has SiRFDiRect, also known as "NavSteadi". This means that the phone can provide positioning information even in situations when the GPS is blocked by high buildings or by weather. This is done through heading and movement tracking as to calculate the modified position of this handset.

Mio A702 comes with Windows Mobile 6 installed and Office Mobile too. This makes it easy for mobile phone users to take their documents outside their PC and even modify them, although a QWERTY keypad might have proved to be more efficient for such actions.

The mobile phone comes with a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus, which provides images of considerably high quality. Moreover, Mio A702 is also capable of media playback and supports a high number of audio and video file formats.

The internal memory capacity has not been specified, although this proves to be an important aspect for smartphones. Still, Mio A702 also comes with a microSD memory expansion slot.

Connectivity is available through a mini-USB port. The phone also supports email sending and Internet browsing, although it would have been a real problem for it to lack these features.

Mio A702 will be available for purchase sometime towards the end of year 2007 for a yet unspecified price.
