Since the demand for affordable, entry-level GPS navigation devices has recorded a sharp increase lately, the most important names in this field have scrambled to come up with new and exciting solutions, capable of answering the respective demand. And that's exactly the case with Mio, who has recently unveiled the Moov line of PNDs, which includes the 200, 210, 300 and 310 models and represents the first set of Mio Technology products to incorporate software developed internally, using design and content proficiencies from the recently-acquired Navman.

The main feature common to all the products from the Moov line is represented by the built-in SiRFInstantFixII GPS receivers, which offer a high level of accuracy even in urban environments, as well as quite fast start-up times. Furthermore, all the models from this family of products are pre-loaded with a very large number of points of interest (around 3.5-million), which helps users find all the restaurants, hotels, gas stations, etc. nearest to their current location.

Both the Mio Moov 300 and 310 have been equipped with a 4.3-inch touchscreen, which allows users to view navigation maps (at 480 x272 pixels resolutions), as well as access the various functions provided by these devices. However, they also incorporate text-to-speech functionality to call out actual street names when making turns, which helps drivers keep their eyes on the road at all times. Additionally, the Mio Moov 310 also comes packed with a built-in TMC receiver that supplies information regarding the state of the road ahead.

On the other hand, the Mio Moov 200 and 210 sport a 3.5-inch, square-shaped display with a bright, anti-glare screen for easy viewing in any environment. These models are targeting those users who are looking especially for a low-cost product and are relying more on the spoken instructions than anything else.

"Our goal is to bring GPS navigation to everyone," said Kiyoshi Hamai, North American sales director, Mio Technology Ltd. "By combining world class hardware with a newly-designed interface we are able to deliver a fantastic navigation experience at a fantastic price. Knowing where you're going is no longer a luxury."

As the company informs us, the new Mio Moov 200, 210, 300 and 310 have MSRPs of $179.95, $199.95, $229.95 and $249.95 respectively, and will arrive in stores across US at some point in April.
