The owners of a mobile phone powered by Google's Android operating system can now enjoy a new application on their devices, one provided for free by the leading online personal finance service Mint.com. Those interested in the new software solution for their handsets will find the solution on the Android Market, enabling users to access their financial picture at all time, while also enabling the management of their finances anytime, anywhere.

“We’ve built a great financial tool for Android users, which expands our mobile solutions to even more users,” said Aaron Patzer, general manager and vice president of Intuit Inc.’s Personal Finance Group and founder of Mint.com. “Mobile users check their account information frequently to make informed spending decisions. Expanding the number of Mint mobile apps means more people are armed with the budgeting and account information they need to save and do more with their money.”

According to the company, the new application is the latest released in a series of mobile solutions that offer Mint.com’s users the possibility to access their personal finances while on the go. The new Android application joins hands with the solution released for the iPhone, as well as with Mint’s mobile messaging features, the company added.

New users can create a free account on the company's website, while existing ones can use their account to access the features available with the Android app, including: - OS Search: Easily search for and find recent transactions, anytime, anywhere. - Mint.com widget: Access a snapshot of overall cash flow in real-time. - Android Live folders: Get financial updates on the phone’s home screen without launching the Mint.com application.

Other features are also available for Mint.com’s users, including real-time account balances, the option to check recent transactions, edit details for transactions, or compare spending against monthly budgets. These functionalities are available for iPhone users too, the company announced. The software solution is password protected, so as to ensure data security, and it works with Android devices running under the 1.5, 1.6 and 2.0 flavors of the OS.
