14 DAY TRIAL // Minka Kelly is single again: the gorgeous actress and her just-as-gorgeous boyfriend Chris Evans have broken up, sources close to the couple confirm for Us Weekly. The split was amicable.
Minka and Chris first dated in 2007 but, because they worked hard to keep their romance a secret, the tabloids only got wind of it when it was already past its prime, naturally.
They reconciled in 2012 and had been dating quietly until just recently, when they again decided they would be better off going their separate ways.
“It didn't make sense for them to be together right now,” an insider says for the publication, adding that distance eventually took a toll on the relationship.
Both have been working hard on their respective acting careers and this translates into a certain inability to be in the same spot at the same time for long. One saying claims that distance makes the heart grow fonder, but too much time apart does the exact opposite of that.
The same insider says that the split was amicable and that there was no third party involved, and certainly no huge scene caused by either of them.
So gents, Minka is single but, ladies, so is Chris.
In some of the interviews Evans did to promote “The Avengers,” in which he plays Captain America, he talked about what he looked for in a woman and you’d probably be surprised by how many boxes anyone can tick on that list.
Apparently, Chris’ ideal woman isn’t high maintenance: she’s free-spoken, intelligent, funny, and comfortable in her own skin. That last part means that Chris likes women who don’t feel like dressing up or putting on their war face every time they leave the house; if we remember correctly, he said his ideal lady was one who looked great in sweatpants, with whom he could stay indoors and watch movies.
