Vivity Labs say that one of the most pleasant ways of keeping your brain fit is playing computer or video games. Of course, not
any games - their games, which are developed in collaboration with brain health experts. And you can check all of them (just nine at the moment) by visiting their website.

Don't expect, however, to see some revolutionary things there - you'll get the same casual games you have played before (if you have done so). However, these promise to improve five major brain functions: memory, concentration, language, executive functions (logic and reasoning), and visual-spatial skills. Translated, it would be something like: classic matching memory game, Dinner-dash like games, find the object games and so on. Really - everything you already know.

"Parents, teachers and bosses who frown upon video games will smile upon Fit Brains," said Michael Cole, founder and CEO. "It's the best kind of gaming that anyone can do; the kind that makes the brain quicker, sharper, and better at reasoning and deduction."

One of the differences brought to you by this game portal is the option for those who create an account to track their brain performances, see where they should improve and even receive feedback from the team - which might be a bit better than just randomly playing a casual one.

"Fit Brains is designed to be fun, personal and practical," said Dr. Paul Nussbaum, co-founder and chief scientific advisor. "Our goal is to motivate users to integrate brain fitness into their everyday routine."

And having in mind that Dr. Paul Nussbaum is the winner of the 2007 American Society on Aging "Gloria Cavanaugh Award", we tend to believe him. Which means that, after all, with or without guidance, casual games are not at all a complete waste of money - they actually help you a bit. Good to know. Now, back to Bejeweled.
