Minecraft on Xbox One Supports Save Game Transfer from Xbox 360 Edition
Microsoft worked alongside 4J Studios and Mojang to enable the feature
Microsoft's Phil Spencer has confirmed that owners of Minecraft on the Xbox 360 will be able to transfer their save game files into the upcoming Xbox One edition later this year, when the title debuts on the new console.Minecraft on the Xbox 360 is one of the most popular editions of the major independent game, and developers Mojang and 4J Studios are working hard to bring it to more platforms, like the PS4 or the Xbox One.
Now, after revealing that the Xbox One version will debut in the following months, Microsoft's Xbox boss, Phil Spencer, has confirmed on Twitter that the company managed to successfully work together with Mojang and 4J to ensure that save game transfer from the Xbox 360 to the Xbox One is working as intended.
4J talked some time ago about the possibility of transferring worlds created on Xbox 360 to the Xbox One, saying that it's unlikely given the big differences between the two versions of Minecraft.
However, it seems that, with Microsoft's help, that technical hurdle has been passed and Xbox 360 owners will soon be able to import their worlds into the Xbox One version, although a release date still isn't available for it.
