The PS Vita edition of Minecraft has just received its first screenshot, showing off the actual interface of the game on the handheld console from Sony, but still no other details are available concerning a release date, for example.

Minecraft delighted tens of millions of PC owners worldwide for quite a few years and, more recently, it started gaining a strong foothold on consoles like the PS3 or Xbox 360.

Soon, thanks to the developer of the console editions of the game, 4J Studios, the blocky crafting experience is going to launch on the PS4, Xbox One, and PS Vita.

While the studio has teased on several occasions the impending debut on the new home consoles, it's been relatively quiet about the PS Vita edition.

Now, however, a first screenshot from Minecraft on PS Vita has just been released on the official Twitter, showing off its crafting interface and how it's been adapted for the handheld platform.

The game is based on the full-fledged PS3 edition, meaning PS Vita owners shouldn't expect an adaptation of the popular Minecraft Pocket Edition that's available on smartphones worldwide.

Unfortunately, besides the screenshot, 4J didn't offer any other details, so PS Vita owners will have to keep on waiting for possible details of a release on their platform.
