Minecraft for Xbox 360, the special console edition of the popular indie game, has sold over 6 million units on the platform, according to developer 4J Studios, but it still doesn't have any news about title update 9 for the game.

Update: Minecraft for Xbox 360 Title Update 9

is available for download on April 5, according to the developer.

Minecraft impressed millions of PC owners a few years ago when it appeared as a novel indie game that was still in its alpha stage.

After experiencing a dramatic surge in popularity, the title was adapted onto other platforms, including the Xbox 360, on which it found a very loyal and ever-increasing user base.

The developer that handled the porting process, 4J Studios, has now revealed on Twitter that over 6 million Minecraft units have been sold on the Xbox 360.

Unfortunately, while this is great news, 4J also mentioned that it still didn't have any news about Title Update 9, the next patch for the game which includes a variety of new content, including The End zone and the Enderdragon.

The patch is still in certification and will be released in the near future.
