The Xbox 360 version of popular indie game Minecraft has reached another impressive milestone, as developer 4J Studios has confirmed that over 4 million units have been sold around the world.

Minecraft became a hit right during its alpha stage on the PC and quickly became even more influential once it reached beta and was finally released in an “official” way.

Original developer Mojang then worked with 4J Studios on porting Minecraft onto the Xbox 360 as a downloadable experience, which appeared this spring.

Since then, the game broke sales records and, according to a new announcement from 4J, it has sold over 4 million units.

The studio has also confirmed that it’s finished working on the next big patch for the game, 1.8.2, and it is currently waiting for Microsoft to certify it.

Expect even more updates for the game to appear in the following months, as 4J wants to bring the Creative mode onto this version of the game as soon as possible.
