Minecraft for the Xbox 360 will receive not one but two different skin packs this week, as Microsoft has confirmed that it's going to release the premium Battle & Beasts DLC tomorrow, on May 8, but also a free Birthday add-on.

The birthday add-on will be posted on May 9 via the Xbox Live Marketplace.

Minecraft for the Xbox 360 has been a huge success, managing to attract millions of console owners from around the world.

Developer 4J Studios has kept on supporting the game through different updates that brought new features, but also through DLC that included new skins.

Now, this week will see the release of not one, but two different add-ons.

The first is the Battle & Beasts DLC, which you can admire above, that includes various skins based on famous fighters and animals, and is priced at 160 MS Points.

The second is a free Birthday Skin Pack, which appears on the game's first anniversary on May 9.

Its contents are a mystery but you can expect something impressive, according to the blog of Xbox Community Manager Larry Hryb.

In order to keep gamers engaged with Minecraft on all platforms Mojang is working with the creators of the hardware to deliver tailor made content.

It will be interesting to see whether the studio will continue to focus on DLC for the foreseeable future or if it has plans to actually try and create a full sequel.
