The "Resize World" feature might not be available at launch, but it's coming

The developer of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the block stacking sensation that is Minecraft has teased a very interesting bit of information, specifically the transfer of Xbox 360 saves to the Xbox One edition.

The save transfer feature was something that has popped up in the community many times since the announcement of the next-gen editions of Minecraft, and now the confirmation is as official as it gets.

The developers said in the past that the Xbox One edition of Minecraft, while not supporting the infinite worlds available on PC, would still be up to 36 times larger than what the Xbox 360 can handle, and that Xbox One worlds would't be transferable to the Xbox 360 precisely because of that difference in size.

"May not be there for launch, but we intend to have a Resize Save option, so you can increase the size of a save transfer world," port developer 4J Studios reveals on Twitter.

The next gen versions of Minecraft will also feature a greatly increased view distance, in order to offer a better picture of the improvement in size, providing an in-game screen capture for comparison purposes.

Minecraft is expected to land on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 in August, this year.
