Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition, the home console video game created by Mojang and ported by 4J Studios, has managed to break the digital sales record on the Xbox Live Arcade service from Microsoft, with Markus Persson, aka Notch, saying that the port has become profitable one hour after it was officially released.

The previous holder of the Xbox Live sales record was Trials Evolution, the stunt arcade racer, managed to set a new one after selling over 100,000 copies during a 24-hour period.

There are currently close to 500,000 entries on the online leaderboards for the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft.

The mobile version of the game has also managed to sell more than 1 million units while the PC version, which was sold starting with the alpha stage, has already gone past the 5 million copies mark.

At the moment, Mojang is working on a card-based game called Scrolls and a new personal project, named 0x10c.
