Video game developer Mojang says that it will make sure that Minecraft will include fireworks in time for Christmas, via a new update which will be launched close to December 25.

The official statement says, “Thing is, we suddenly decided we wanted to make sure that you have fireworks for New Year’s Eve, so we’re working in several parallel branches of the code now. One is for the 1.5 “Redstone Update,” and one is now for a 1.4.6 patch update. This update will be out before Christmas, and 1.5 will wait until January (or possibly February).”

A new snapshot for the game is now available.

Minecraft has been a huge success on both the PC and the Xbox 360 and the Mojang team says that it is still selling very well and that it has long-term support plans for the indie hit.
